Notes about our recent changes:
It always amazes us how busy we can get in retirement. Of course, we “retired” years ago when we were 48, but it didn’t seem like retirement due to the business we created, Island Bead & Box. Jerry made fabulous jewel boxes of exotic hardwoods, and I made lampwork glass bead, both of which were so popular that they sold worldwide.
Since the move to Arizona, Jerry has been concentrating on golf, reducing his handicap by 10 points, and I’ve been playing enough bridge to supposedly make me a good player. I still make some unique pieces of jewelry (see below) but sell primarily to friends through special orders. Add to that, we’re both playing at sketching, enjoying our friends, loving the desert, and generally finding new things to do way too frequently.
